A rude awakening

[You awaken from a deep sleep. You are groggy and cold and feel off in ways that may be initially difficult to place. The door to your stasis pod opens. How did you get here? That's a really good question. Who are you? That's another.]

[Step outside into the warmer (albeit not especially warm) room and you'll see the others, all dressed in a similar style of stasis suits. One or two of them are wearing the same colors as you, though it's perhaps hard to tell with the dim, red glow that fills the room.]

[The doors are closed. There is no apparent way to open them. And a robotic voice intermittently rings through the room:]

Life support is being restored to the facility. Please stand by.

Huh. I don't even remember dreams.

Maybe it'll come to me later.

[Nods reluctantly.]

I guess there's not much we can do about it right now, anyway.

[He's eyeing those doors, though - and starts heading over, wondering if there's something they can do now.]

[the_rogue]

[Ezekiel trails along after him, frowning at the doors and the paneling around them.]

Sure seems that way. Are those even unlocked?

There's one way to find out.

[Huh... no handles. Guess that means it's time to dig my fingers into the crack between them and pry.]

[the_rogue]

Here, move over and let me help. Maybe we can get it together.

[whenitrainsitstorms]

[Scoots over to make room for you.]

On three?

[the_rogue]

[He finds a spot to get a good grip on.]

One...

[whenitrainsitstorms]

[Braces his feet.]

Two.

[the_rogue]

Three.

[Time to put all his weight into trying to wrench the door open]

[whenitrainsitstorms]

[Grits his teeth and leans back hard, trying to force the doors.]

[ima_npc]

[The computerized voice kicks in again:]

The doors will open when life support has resumed throughout the facility. Please leave space in front of the doors.

[the_rogue]

Lame.

How long is that gonna take?

[ima_npc]

Two hours.

[whenitrainsitstorms]

Why was it off in the first place?

[the_rogue]

Maybe 'cause we were in those pods?

[ima_npc]

Correct.

[whenitrainsitstorms]

So there's no one else in the rest of this whole... wherever this is?

[ima_npc]

Correct.

[the_rogue]

That...doesn't sound good. What happened to everyone else?

[ima_npc]

Unknown.

[whenitrainsitstorms]

And if we ignore you, and pry these doors open before the two hours is up?

[ima_npc]

The temperature outside of this room is unsuitable to support human life.

[the_rogue]

I think it might be a good idea to pass on that.
