[Outside, the thunder sounds like the whole world is falling down, and the lightning flashes a second later, practically on top of it.]

Right.

[Heading deeper into the building; he opens the first door he comes to and peers up the stairs, toward the roof.]

Not here.

Anywhere is fine as long as there are no windows.

[Glancing around and fidgeting nervously. That storm has him rattled.]

[Something large-sounding thuds from outside, and there is the distant noise of more breaking glass. He glances toward the place where the broken window is now letting in enough rain to puddle on the floor and gives a terse nod.]

Come on, then.

[court_chesster]

[Picks up the tiger, letting the rabbits hop up into his jacket and onto his shoulders, and hurries along.]

[Shuts the door after them - and everything goes suddenly pitch black.]

Of course...

[sssssssigh]

Ah well. At least we're inside now.

[Plops down against a wall.]

As long as the bottom floor doesn't flood, we should be safe here.

[Sinks down to sit on the bottom step, himself.]

[court_chesster]

Yeah.

[Curling up a little]

... Everything was fine until you showed up.

[whenitrainsitstorms]

[Leans back against the wall.]

...you probably would have died when you fell, if you hadn't started heading for the ground when you did.

[court_chesster]

[Huffs rather than conceding the point]

Who are you, anyway?

[whenitrainsitstorms]

[Opens his mouth as though he means to answer... and then closes it.]

I don't know.

[court_chesster]

[suddenly extremely attentive]

You don't know?

[whenitrainsitstorms]

[Thinks about it for a few seconds, like it's something on the tip of his tongue that he'll be able to find if he searches hard enough.]

[Then, faintly, a little shaken:]
